Multi-level deck with seating

Multi-level Deck

Living in a house with a severe drop straight outside your kitchen door isn't ideal when you have a toddler and frequently entertain friends and family. As such, this family in Crouch End requested an area of which they could make pratical use whilst bridging the height difference between garden and kitchen.

In addition, there were the restrictions of overlooking the neighbours, and the need for garden access, limiting the height and width of the uppermost deck.

Opaque glass provided privacy whilst letting light through, and the glass theme was continued throughout the ballustrading.

The restrictions on space were turned to an advantage by incorprating seating into the changes in level.

The space underneath the uppermost deck was utilised for secure bike storage.
